James Bond movies in order
Twenty-five official films across six decades, made by Eon Productions and led by six actors: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. Release order is the only order: the films swap actors without restarting the story, until Casino Royale (2006) begins again with Bond's first mission as 007.
From Casino Royale to No Time to Die, the five Craig films tell one connected story, so watch those in sequence. The earlier films mostly stand alone, and skipping around them costs very little.

Questions people ask
What is the order of the James Bond movies?
In release order: Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), Licence to Kill (1989), GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), Die Another Day (2002), Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021).
Do I need to watch the Daniel Craig Bond films in order?
Yes. Casino Royale (2006) restarts the series with Bond's first mission as 007, and the five Craig films then follow one story: Quantum of Solace picks up straight after Casino Royale, and Spectre and No Time to Die pull the threads together. The earlier films mostly stand alone.
Why are Casino Royale (1967) and Never Say Never Again not on the list?
They were not made by Eon Productions, which produces the official series. Casino Royale (1967) is a spoof with David Niven as Bond, and Never Say Never Again (1983) is a remake of Thunderball with Sean Connery returning to the role. Neither belongs to the 25-film run, and the app's Bond track leaves them out too.
How many actors have played James Bond?
Six in the official films: Sean Connery (six films), George Lazenby (one), Roger Moore (seven), Timothy Dalton (two), Pierce Brosnan (four) and Daniel Craig (five). David Niven played him in the unofficial 1967 Casino Royale.
When is the next James Bond movie?
A new film has been announced with Denis Villeneuve directing, but it has no confirmed release date. This page will add it when it has one.
