John Wick movies in order
Four films starring Keanu Reeves, released from 2014 to 2023, plus two spinoffs: The Continental, a three-episode series about a young Winston in 1970s New York, and Ballerina, a 2025 film with Ana de Armas set during and after Chapter 3.
Release order is the natural first watch, since the spinoffs assume you know the films. Story order moves The Continental to the start and slots Ballerina between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.

Questions people ask
What is the order of the John Wick movies?
In release order: John Wick (2014), John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum (2019), John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), the series The Continental (2023) and Ballerina (2025). In story order, The Continental comes first and Ballerina sits between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.
Where does Ballerina fit in the John Wick timeline?
Between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. Its story takes place during and after the events of Chapter 3, and John Wick himself appears in it, so watch it once you have seen Chapter 3.
Do I need to watch The Continental?
No. It is a three-episode prequel series about how a young Winston came to run the New York Continental hotel, and none of the films depend on it. Watch it if you want more of the hotel and its rules.
Will there be a John Wick: Chapter 5?
A fifth film and more spinoffs have been reported, but none has a confirmed release date. This page will add them when they arrive.
